E1 - Coin / Faversham Coin Pen - Limited Edition Series
E1 - Coin / Faversham Coin Pen - Limited Edition Series
Description
The pen as shown is $895 with a JoWo steel nib - If you would like a roller ball pen please add that to the comment section and we will change the fountain pen to a rollerball. There will be only 25 of this limited edition 2 Reale Spanish Cob series. The Pen… Artifact Coin Pen is comprised of 2 Reale Spanish Cob Coinage, a “deadeye” made from lignum vitae wood and alternative Ivory. Spanish Cob Coinage - The coins that appear on the pens are pure silver replicas made from the actual silver coin that was recovered by me. A silicon mold was made from the actual coins and other silver Spanish coins were melted down to create these replicas Deadeye – Lignum Vitae wood - Deadeyes made from Lignum Vitae wood are regarded by most to be both the heaviest and hardest wood in the world with very high natural oil content. The natural oils in the wood provide self-lubrication that gives the deadeye excellent wear resistance. This is why for centuries sailing ships used lignum vitae for blocks and deadeyes in the static rigging for mast stays. This deadeye was not taken from the Faversham (no wood was left from this ship because of the location and very harsh conditions where it wrecked) but it is from a sailing ship of the times from the early 18th century obtained at auction. Alternative Ivory – This is a manmade product made to look like real Ivory. This is used as the background for the frigate Faversham.
